Power Rankings for Week 1

2022-11-11

Welcome back to the Weekly Power Rankings for the 2022-2023 Season.

Depending on when the simulations take place, I'll aim to get them out once a week.

Here are the Week 1 Power Rankings

-To the surprise of no one, Winnipeg, Ottawa and L.A. sit atop the list. All possible candidates for GM of the year. An award I just made up that we should totally do.

-Edmonton, Pittsburgh and Philly start the year off with strong showings compared to their 2021-2022 seasons. Their offseason moves seem to have paid off for them. Good Job guys!

-Washington decided they were only going to play bottom-feeder teams from the Western Conference and murder them. Next week they will have some actual competition, provided Edmonton and Montreal don't implode.

-Detroit is doing its best Toronto Maple Leafs impression by shitting the bed to start the season, then taking out their impotent rage on poor Tampa Bay.

-Speaking of Tampa, Welcome to the regular season! I'm rooting for you and Minny to have a great experience to start your GM tenures.

-New York hasn't quite decided decided what they want to be. After last-year's fire sale/draft-pick orgy, you would think they would still be in full rebuild, but then they acquired some big pieces in the off season, and now they are looking to contend. They will be an exciting team to watch this year.

-Finally it would seem that the Bedard sweepstakes are between Vancouver and Chicago thus far. Best of luck to those guys!

Ottawa's drunken rants better make a comeback this year too!
